Hispanic Heritage Celebration

The Hispanic Heritage Celebration honors and celebrates the rich and diverse cultures of Hispanic and Latino communities, with a special focus on uplifting youth and families. The festival is inspired by El Día de los Niños (Day of the Children), a cherished tradition celebrated across many Latin American countries that recognizes the importance of children, childhood, and family. Observed in different ways throughout Latino cultures, each with its own customs, music, and traditions, this international holiday demonstrates our commitment to centering youth and honoring the cultural practices that shape their identities.

The Hispanic Heritage Celebration highlights the importance of childhood, education, and the overall well-being of youth and families. It is a joyful gathering that brings families together through engaging activities and shared experiences. Above all, the celebration is designed to ensure that youth and families in our community feel respected, supported, and valued.

Music and Dance: Samba, calypso, soca, and traditional dances such as cumbia and salsa set the rhythm, featuring live performances.

Festive Foods and Drinks: Attendees will enjoy cultural cuisines including empanadas and tamales, sweet treats like churros, piñatas filled with candy, and refreshing regional beverages such as chicha, along with rum-based cocktails for adults.

Festive Attire: Children and families are encouraged to wear colorful, playful outfits that reflect favorite characters or traditional cultural attire.
