Dance Fest 2024

Nō Studios, a hub for the creative arts in downtown Milwaukee, announces the return of Dance Fest. Now in its third year, Dance Fest has expanded to include five premier dance companies from across the Midwest along with four Wisconsin-based programs. Featuring a diverse array of genres including contemporary, ballet, African-inspired, salsa, and hip-hop, this celebrated dance experience brings together exceptional local and national talent. In addition to the combined performance, this all-ages event offers food and live music.

Danni Gee, director of programming for New York City’s Joyce Theater, will emcee the event.

Regional dance companies participating in Dance Fest include: Chicago Dance Crash, Danceworks Performance MKE, Ko-Thi Dance Company, Madison Ballet, Salsabrositas, Visceral Dance Chicago, and Water Street Dance Milwaukee.

Bonus Content:

In addition to the main performance, a festival experience is planned throughout the day that is free and open to the public. A pre-performance by Milwaukee area youth dance groups will run from 5-6:30 p.m. on the lawn. Food will be available for purchase or attendees are welcome to picnic. In addition, tech rehearsals will take place throughout the afternoon, along with food trucks and live music.

This event is presented by Nō Studios, an independent organization separate from the Marcus Performing Arts Center.
