As part of our commitment to advancing racial equity, diversity, and inclusion in the performing arts, MPAC is proud to partner with Donald Driver as our first Cultural Ambassador.

Green Bay Packers legend and community advocate Donald Driver is the Marcus Performing Arts Center’s first Cultural Ambassador. The four-year partnership with Donald Driver as MPAC Cultural Ambassador will promote the power of the arts, culture, and community engagement by making the performing arts more accessible to underserved youth, families, and communities of color throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.

As a Super Bowl Champion, Dancing with the Stars Champion, Green Bay Packers All-Time Leading Receiver, and 2013 AMVETS Humanitarian of the Year who has overcome homelessness among many other accomplishments, Donald Driver has become one of the most community-minded athletes of his generation.

Season Highlights

In January 2023, the Marcus Performing Arts Center hosted Step Afrika! for a three-day residency that included workshops, a panel discussion, a Divine 9 roll call, public performance, and Student Matinee. Our Cultural Ambassador, Donald Driver, participated in the adult workshop, panel discussion, and introduced the Thursday night performance.

Learn more about this incredible residency and its impact on audiences, workshop participants, and our community by watching the video below.

In his first engagement as MPAC Cultural Ambassador, Driver sat down with diverse leaders in the performing arts industry to talk through trials, triumphs, hurdles and successes in the Artists Unscripted Series.

Driver joined Terence Blanchard and Hiplet for the first installments of the Artists Unscripted Series to discuss career advice for young artists and breaking down stereotypes in the performing arts.
