Marcus Center volunteers are an integral part of our front of house team.

Volunteer Positions:


Usher Volunteer

The volunteer usher job description includes –

  • Greeting patrons
  • Answering event and facility questions
  • Directing patrons to their seats
  • Monitoring the audience during performances to assure an undisturbed atmosphere for artists and patrons

Delivering quality customer service requires teamwork and attention to detail. Our volunteers must be proactive and interact with staff and our patrons in a professional, energetic and friendly manner.


Requirements for our volunteer program also include being able to -

  • Work a minimum of 12 performances per calendar year
  • Stand for extended period of time
  • Climb stairs
  • Provide own uniform

Morning Glory Gallery Volunteer

The volunteer Morning Glory Gallery job description includes –

  • Greeting patrons entering the Gallery
  • Showing merchandise from the display cases
  • Helping with gift wrapping
  • Assisting staff as needed before each show and during intermission
  • We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who appreciate the arts, and enjoy talking with patrons.
  • Gallery volunteers must be friendly and welcoming, and conduct themselves in a professional manner.
  • Gallery volunteers do not handle any financial transactions.


Requirements to be a Morning Glory Gallery volunteer include being able to -

  • Work a minimum of 10 performances during a variety of shows (ballet, symphony, opera and Broadway) per calendar year
  • Be available for evening and weekend show times
  • Stand for an extended period of time
  • Dress in a professional manner

We will reply as openings become available and you will be asked to participate in a personal interview. We are currently looking for volunteers for the 2018-2019 season.
