Festival City Symphony will conclude its “Pajama Jamboree” season with “I’ve Got Rhythm,” a free concert on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at 7pm in the Bradley Pavilion of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts (the main entrance on 929 N. Water Street).
FCS will share the evening with local performing artist Julio Pabon, an award-winning percussionist/singer and educator. Music with a Latin/African flavor will predominate and children in the audience will have an opportunity to conduct the orchestra’s finale, “Stars and Stripes.” Says Mr. Pabon: “Everything in life has a rhythm and that rhythm crosses all boundaries.” Julio has performed with Milwaukee Public Theater, Present Music, First Stage, Danceworks, and more.
All “Pajama Jamboree” concerts have free admission. Hosted by Education Director Jayne Perkins, these popular programs welcome children and their parents or grandparents to attend in casual dress or pajamas. The audience is invited to bring a blanket and sit on the floor, up close to “meet” the orchestra. Conventional seating is also available. Pajama Jamborees are best suited for children in K4 through fifth grade.
