Free Classical Pops Concerts for Children

Select Wednesdays from 7:00pm – 8:00pm.  Doors open at 6:30pm.  No registration required.

This series of three FREE classical “pops” concerts, each one hour in length, is geared to children and their families. Each concert has narration and music selections that are lively, tell a story, and/or demonstrate the colors of the orchestra.

Hosted by Jayne Perkins and conducted by Monte Perkins, these popular programs welcome children and their parents or grandparents to attend.

Dress is casual. Pajamas, teddy bears, and blankets are welcome for the youngest audience members, especially for a spot on the floor directly in front of the orchestra.

Conventional seating is also available.

The programs are frequently collaborative efforts with guest artists appealing to kids (dancers, costumed actors, children’s performing groups, etc.).

Sometimes audience members even get to conduct!

As always, FCS will close its season with children from the audience conducting the orchestral finale “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

Pajama Jamborees are best suited for children in K4 through fifth grade.

PLEASE NOTE: Enter through the main entrance, 929 N. Water Street. If you park in the Marcus Center lot, you are welcome to use the third level sky walk.
