DESCRIPTION:Music from Mexico\, the United States\, Poland\, Russia\, and Argentina\nIn collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Milwaukee\, MPAC presents Mexican pianist Juan Pablo Horcasitas\, in a free solo concert featuring music from around the world including works of Chopin\, Rachmaninoff\, Piazzolla\, Gershwin\, and more. \nThe event will have a pre-show discussion starting at 6:00 pm. \nPraised as one of the most versatile musicians of his generation\, Horcasitas is an active collaborative artist\, chamber musician\, conductor\, and teacher. Since his solo debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2009\, he has been actively performing and collaborating with many artists\, and his work has taken him around the world. Horcasitas is an avid promoter of the music of American and Latin American composers and has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Excellence in Classical Music Award at the Mexican Music Awards in New York City. A sought after lecturer on Mexican concert music\, his career has included multiple faculty positions and currently is the Piano Department Chair at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
