SUMMARY:Radio Free Honduras at Rainbow Summer: HIGHLIGHT
DESCRIPTION:Free Event | Sponsored by Versiti\nRadio Free Honduras incorporates the colorful tastes of salsa\, samba\, and bossa nova into their music\, drawing influence from the diverse musical traditions of Latin America. They are a cross-cultural\, multigenerational collaboration fronted by Honduran folk music legend Charlie Baran. \nPrior to immigrating to the USA\, Baran was a fixture in the largely undocumented music scene of Honduras in the 70s and 80s. He was an integral part of several of the biggest musical acts in Honduras during that era\, all of which played an essential role in creating the sound that eventually became the genre of music known as Punta Rock. \nWhile heavily influenced by the Punta-rock genre that Baran and his contemporaries in the Honduran music scene pioneered\, Radio Free Honduras performs a wide variety of styles that they generally refer to as Latin Americana.   \nStay tuned to MPAC Socials for any weather updates that may impact the event. \nSchedule of July 25:\n4:00 –  7:00 PM Mercadera Market\n5:30 – 7:30 PM Bubbles playtime with Michelle Hackett on South Grounds\n7:00 PM – Radio Free Honduras performance in Peck Pavilion \nAll Day FUN\nElysian Arcs by Atelier Sisu\nRainbow Piano – BE the art!\nGiant Lawn Games \nFood & Beverages\nSazama’s River Edge Patio serving Saz’s Festival Favorites and Beverages\nFood trucks starting at 5:00 PM: Isa’s Ice Cream | More Trucks Provided as part of Mercadera Market
