Parking Attendant

The Marcus Performing Arts Center is currently accepting applications for the position of part-time Parking Attendant.

Parking Attendant Tasks:

  • Staff parking gates during performance hours and for daily parkers during all hours of operation.
  • Assist parking patrons and direct them to available parking stalls, keep vehicles moving as safely and as fast as possible.
  • Close booth and balance your drawer as your shift ends.
  • Assist patrons who are having difficulty with the auto payment system.
  • Assist in traffic control as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervise

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a sometimes hectic environment with changing priorities.

Scheduling/Availability Requirements:

  • We are currently seeking new employees to cover evening and weekend shifts. Employee availability must include weekend availability. Actual scheduled hours will vary from week to week depending on need. Employees are typically scheduled for 10-20 hours per week.

Be a part of our MPS Internship Program!
Once again, Shakespeare in the Park and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts are teaming up to hire 4 MPS students this summer. We're looking for MPS students ages 16-18, We pay $9 per hour and each student is allocated 160 hours.

Position Descriptions:
Visual Arts Intern (1 position available): The Visual Arts Intern will get to be involved in a variety of the tasks needed to create Shakespeare in the Park performances. You might also help with the visual arts elements of the Marcus Center's summer youth programming. You may work on the show set, take on photography projects, help to create displays that people will see before every show, and help create artwork that will be printed in the program. In addition to your specific focus on Visual Arts, every intern will also work on the hospitality team at all 14 of the Shakespeare in the Park performances.

Summer Youth Workshops Intern (2 positions available): The Summer Youth Workshops Intern will help organize and facilitate workshops directly with community members, primarily with youth. The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts is a partner with Shakespeare in the Park and they have a great schedule of summer youth activities. You will help put together workbooks, and work directly with the youth on their activities. You may also work on the Shakespeare in the Park summer youth workshops. In addition to your specific focus on Summer Youth Workshops, every intern will also work on the hospitality team at all 14 of the Shakespeare in the Park performances.

Arts Administration Intern (1 position available): The Summer Youth Workshops Intern will help organize and facilitate workshops directly with community members, primarily with youth.
