DEVELOPMENT AMBASSADOR

The Development Ambassador position serves as a member of the Sales & Marketing Department at the Marcus Center. The position reports directly to the Development Associate and Director of Development.

About the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts

The Marcus Center is a private non-profit 501(c) 3 corporation and is a dedicated veteran’s memorial in Milwaukee. As a bridge between cultures, the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts offers facilities and services of the highest quality, makes available a wide range of the performing arts, and acts as an energizing force for effective collaboration and advocacy in the community. The Marcus Center is also the home to the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Ballet, Florentine Opera, First Stage, Black Arts MKE, and a variety of other diversity and community engagement programs throughout the year.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:

  •        Conduct prospect research for potential members, partners, donors, and sponsors
  •        Create profiles of prospects including analysis of community involvement, Board of Directors positions, history of giving, guiding values, and more
  •        Coordinate membership outreach including preparation of materials for onboarding, entering and tracking member accounts, and brainstorming engaging benefit packages
  •        Assist with Giving Tuesday planning and implementation including promotion at performances, events, and on other occasions upon arrangement
  •        Assist with stewardship of donors and members including preparing timely acknowledgment of gifts
  •       Other related tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  •         Enrollment at an accredited University
  •         Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  •         Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  •         Critical thinking / creative problem-solving skills
  •         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Additional Information

Hours/Pay Rate/Benefits:
The hours are flexible and can include nights. This position is unpaid, and will serve as accreditation for coursework. The position also includes opportunities for complimentary performance tickets.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this position. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Development Ambassadors will be provided with a work space and a laptop with access to our network and shared drives for use in the office. This position description describes the general nature and scope of responsibilities for this positon. Other duties may be assigned or arranged.

Location:
The Marcus Center for the Performing Administrative Offices are located at 123 E State Street, on the fourth floor of the Center. There is direct access to Bus Routes as well as a parking structure one block north of the Center between E State Street and E Highland Ave.
