General Policies

1. SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED ANYWHERE IN THE CENTER.
2. No eating or drinking will be allowed in the control booths.
3. Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to work backstage.
4. No lagging, screwing or nailing into the stage floor without prior permission of Marcus Center Technical Director.
5. The visiting company shall not obstruct any portion of the sidewalks, entries, halls, elevators, stairs, or other egress from the building, or access to any utilities of the building.
6. Animals will not be allowed in the Center for any reasons other than use in a show or as an assistance animal for the disabled. Under no circumstances will animals being used in a show be allowed in the Center other than during rehearsal and/or performance. This privilege must be secured through the Technical Director prior to the load-in.
7. The visiting company shall provide identification and/or complete lists of all persons to be allowed in the backstage area. This list is to be provided at load-in time, and approved by the Technical Director. The Center reserves the right to restrict admission of any person to the backstage area.
8. The house opens 30 minutes before the scheduled starting time. All stage work and sound checks must be completed by that time. The Technical Director will assist the visiting company in opening the house on time.
9. The use of recording devices and taking of photographs is normally prohibited in the Center.
10. While 24 hour security is provided, the Marcus Center shall not be responsible for loss by theft, fire, damage, or mysterious disappearance of any machinery, equipment, paraphernalia, costumes, clothing, jewelry, money, trunks, luggage, scenery, music, music instruments, or any other property of the Lessee, his agents, his employees or audience. Lessee should obtain insurance for all such property. No additional locks will be permitted on the doors of the premises by the visiting company. Valuables should not be left in dressing rooms. It is recommended by the Center that they be collected by your Stage Manager prior to the show and kept with the Stage Manager until the performance is completed.
11. DUE TO THE STATE OF WISCONSIN FIRE LAWS, THERE CAN BE NO OPEN FLAME DEVICES, AND NO PYROTECHNICS OF ANY KIND ON THE STAGE OF THE THEATRE. ONLY WATER-BASED CHEMICAL FOG OR DRY ICE FOG IS ALLOWED AS A SMOKE SUBSTITUTE. NO OTHER TYPE OF SMOKE PRODUCING DEVICE IS ALLOWED. THERE IS NO APPEAL.
12. Parking is available on the street at meters (25c/15 min.) or in the Marcus Center parking structure located on State Street. Trucks are not permitted to park in the loading dock once they are unloaded.
13. No one is allowed in the theatre space without a stagehand or center employee present.
14. The Marcus Center management reserves the right to control the sound decibel level and to adjust the final equalization on any show in the center.
15. No house seats will be removed to accommodate sound and lighting boards without first getting approval from the Technical Director.
16. Restoration of all stage equipment to house specifications is required, no exceptions, without prior approval of the Technical Director.
