To whom it may concern:
Last Sunday my husband and I went to see the Barber of Seville. As my husband is handicapped, and in a wheelchair, we had seats in the last row right at the back.
One usher told us to get out of the elevator on the 4th floor. We then showed our tickets to an usher on that floor we were told to go up one floor to the 5th floor.
We once again showed our tickets to another usher, who told us that we were on the wrong side of the theatre, but as the seats had not been removed on the other side of that row to accommodate a wheelchair, we were to stay where we were. Ten minutes before the opera began, a woman in a wheelchair arrived to sit in the seats that we were sitting in, and so we knew that we were sitting in the wrong seats.
A manager was called and THANKFULLY took the situation under control. She took us down one floor, and then up one floor again. By this time the Opera had begun, but she assured us that we would not have to wait outside until the interval, in order to be seated.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Opera, and as soon as it was over, we left in order to get the elevator. The elevator was waiting for us, as the manager had arranged for an usherette to hold the elevator for us, and then helped to escort us out of the building. Negotiating the crowds in a wheelchair is extremely challenging, but with this wonderful assistance, it was a breeze, and we were out of the building in no time.
I do not remember any of the names of the staff that were so helpful, but I would like to convey my thanks to someone who was able to think out of the box, and be EXTREMELY helpful.
Many thanks.
