DIVERSITY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Marcus Center for the Performing Arts

Diversity & Community Engagement

The Marcus Center’s diversity initiative offers experiences, both at the Center, and within the community, that embrace diversity and engage audiences through the performing arts. We are a mission-based organization that strives to be the premier community-friendly Arts Center that incorporates and celebrates diversity in all aspects of what the Center offers. This includes programming, community engagement and its facility as a whole.

The Marcus Center is a 501c3 corporation that is currently owned and partially funded by Milwaukee County. As the community’s Arts Center, it has a dual role as both a provider of space and as a home to six major resident groups which include, First Stage, Milwaukee Ballet, Florentine Opera Company, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Black Arts MKE and the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra.

As a presenter, the Marcus Center also offers its own arts and entertainment programming, such as Associated Bank’s Broadway at the Marcus Center, Marcus Center Presents and LIVE at Peck. Offering diverse programming to our entire community helps us to build bridges through shared cultural experiences.
